Born in the Valleys of South Wales, Katie Owen was brought up on a diet of The Beatles, The Kinks and Oasis thanks to her dad’s record collection.

The daughter of Welsh filmmaker Jonny Owen, Katie got her big break when she stepped into her dad’s shoes at a This Feeling gig in Cardiff – passing the mantle not only across the decks but also the generational divide.

Described by Noel Gallagher as ‘the best club in the UK for future rock ‘n’ roll stars’, This Feeling has become a home away from home for Katie, who is a regular at their club nights in Cardiff and London.

A few weeks after her debut Katie found herself on the main stage at Y Not Festival in Derbyshire where she entertained a packed tent.

Shortly after moving to London in November of 2018 a chance tweet landed Katie a UK tour support slot with Reverend and the Makers.

2019 is set to be a massive year for Katie, with numerous festival appearances scheduled including a return to Y Not, as well as slots at Electric Fields, Isle of White and Tramlines – Katie is rapidly becoming one of the most in-demand DJ’s in the UK.

When not behind the decks, Katie has become a favourite with notable brands, launching a successful modelling career. She can now be seen across the country as the face of Scotts Menswear summer campaign; conducting backstage interviews at The Great Escape and Isle of White; and heard on air during her weekly residency on Boogaloo Radio, where she presents alongside the likes of Alan McGee and Carl Barat.

If there was a Sound of 2019 poll for DJs, it’s a given that Katie Owen would rank amongst the rising stars.

Coalition Agency acts as DJ booking agent for Katie Owen.
